"The Tiki Bar Project"
2003 |
|
This is the shipping crate that we used to create
our Tiki Bar. |
Here is the side view of the shipping crate. |
I
cut the crate in half with a jig saw.
This provided me with two ends to support the bar top. |
This
is a temporary setup of the bar befoe I sanded and stained it. |
And,
here is a look at the back of the bar. |
In
this image you can see the difference the stain made. Also note the
support I added around the top, using a 1x2. |
After
I sanded and stained it I pieced it together again to see how it was
looking so far. Its getting there...
|
The next night I lacquered the bar, I will add
several coats with a light sanding between. This should provide a nice
shiny gloss to it. Then we will dress up the bar so it fits in with the
Tiki theme that was intended for it.
